Is the mini container removable?

Yes. It is removable.

Can we heat the lunch box in an oven?

Yes absolutely. However, please remove the silicone seal before you do so as the seal is not oven safe.

Are these really not allowed to go in the fridge as the description states?

These lunch boxes can go in the fridge but what really breaks the steel is the rapid temperature difference that occurs when you place hot food in the lunch box as soon as you take it out from the fridge.
